Manager/Director of Castello del Poggio
After getting a degree as oeno – technique from the Oenologic School of Alba (CN) in 1976 obtaining 60/60 points, he started to work in the “Cantina Sociale Terrenostre” property of Cossano Belbo where he was in charge of the vinification of Moscato grapes.
A year later, he started collaborating with the company “Fratelli Martini of Cossano Belbo” as analyst, taking care of sparkling white wines production.
From 1979 to 1988, he worked for Castel di Serra in Gavi Ligure winery as manager, looking after the oenological and wine-growing activities.
And since January 8th 1989, 21 years ago, he’s been working for Castello del Poggio Estate, as Manager and Winemaker. Here, Corrado Surano shows his passion, devotion and deep knowledge of Piemonte’s autochthonous grape varieties in the production of all still and sparkling white wines, obtaining important recognitions in diverse national and international contests.
